Heartmarkhelps you remember the thoughtful things — the gift ideas, the birthdays, the little details about the people you love. To do that, we keep some information for you. Here’s exactly what we collect, why, and how to remove it. No fine print games.
What we collect
- Your account. When you sign up, our sign-in provider (Clerk) stores your name and email so you can log back in.
- The people you’re gifting for. Names, your relationship to them, birthdays and other dates, and the interests you jot down.
- Your gift ideas and history. The ideas you save, notes you add, and what you’ve marked as purchased.
- Gift photos. Any images you upload to remember an idea.
- Waitlist email. If you joined the waitlist, we kept your email address so we could tell you when there’s news.
We don’t sell any of this, and we don’t use it to advertise to you.
Why we collect it
One reason: to run the service you signed up for — helping you keep track of gifts for the people who matter. That’s it. If a piece of information isn’t helping you do that, we don’t want it.
Who helps us run Heartmark
Heartmark is a small operation, so we rely on a few trusted services to keep it running. Each one only handles the part it needs to:
- Clerk — signs you in and keeps your account secure.
- Neon — the database where your gift lists and details are stored.
- Vercel Blob — where your uploaded photos are stored.
- Sentry — helps us spot and fix errors so the app keeps working.
- Anthropic — powers a few of Heartmark’s smarter touches, like suggesting tags for a gift idea.
How to delete your data
You’re in control. If you delete your Heartmarkaccount, we automatically remove all of the information tied to it — your people, your ideas, your photos, your history. It’s not a request that sits in a queue; deleting your account purges the data.
You can delete your account from your account settings. If you’d rather we handle it, or you have a question about your data, reach out and we’ll take care of it.
